DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.


Dredd stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby (Juno) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones). The film opens in 3D September 21st.

Anything would be better than the Dredd movie we got with Rob Schneider. I mean, really, Rob Schneider. His last 8 movies have been Red Box exclusives.

But still, this looks like a fan film.

Honestly taken serious the last judge dredd was horrible

But loosely it was funny as hell

I loved the Dredd film for the jokes

@INTRUDER. You're clearly a Judge Dredd fan, and you're probably over-the-moon in love with this production. I'm not, and I really haven't seen anything that changes my mind.

It's kind of like when I take my dog for a walk. When he stops to sniff another dog's ass, do I stop him? Nope. Why? Because he really loves the smell of shit. Whatever floats your boat man.

Up till now I've disliked nearly most of thhe images from this new film... who can forget this crappy image:

LOL!

but the new clip - the very FIRST FOOTAGE!!!! - looks rather good. The backdrop looks great, the helmets look fine, the uniforms look good, the actual frame of the scene is good - the way the gun appears from nowhere to take out the guy.

Can't fault it. Very encouraging. :) It's good to see something about Dredd 2012 and get genuinely excited. :)

Minor spoiler - one of the Judges is black. Judge Alvarez.

If they can the tone right and it's not just another typical action film but has enough of the feel of the 2000AD Judge Dredd strip this film could rock! Of course we need to see a trailer to get a sense if it will rock but the potential is there. Judge Dredd is arguably the toughest, never gives up, non-superhero comic character ever. He is the real deal.

Vence...You have got to be joking. The only way you can say that about that amateur is if you have a stake in it. The camera work, the acting, the lighting, and the costumes are grade D. I can't speak to the story, but I'm not going to find out. My guess is you helped make it, or a friend of yours did. Nice try.
