For the past couple weeks, rumors about a Justice League movie and a DC Cinematic Universe has grown more and more. While these rumors keep coming, the fate of the DC Cinematic Universe ultimately comes down to the success of Man of Steel. Today at DC's first panel at C2E2, the Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras, Editorial Director Bobbie Chase, and the VP Marketing John Cunningham were asked about a Justice League and Wonder Woman movie and this is what John Cunningham said:

“Well, we weren’t going to say anything until Warner Bros. studios allowed us to do it, but since you asked the question. Watch this space. Watch it. It’s coming.”

Cunningham added, “I think the best thing I can say to all of you is go out and see Superman opening weekend. Drive that box office. Make people sit up and pay attention to what you want. But I think that the movie business works years and years in planning. These decisions are being made, have been made, and we will all know what they are shortly. And I think we will all be happy when that comes down.”

Not all that much really other than see Man of Steel and decisions have been made. What are your thoughts? Comment below. Peace.

Well the WB has probably got 3 plans based on what MoS does at the box office.

1. MoS Bombs: No Sequel, JLA or DC franchise apart from Batman
2. Moderate Success: A MoS sequel and perhaps a new Batman movie
3. Monster Success: JLA movie, but depending on the Easter eggs in MoS possible franchises launched pre-JLA, but spinoffs likely after a JLA.

I would like to add a sub-plan to plan '2' Should the film be big enough to get a sequel, but not launch a JLA movie, they may also use the time to relaunch Batman and work towards a World's finest, which could then take us to JLA.

I didn't hear anything specifically about Wonder Woman, here, but a WW movie needs to happen before a Justice League.
We don't need a Batman reboot before the Justice League. In fact I think that would be a seriously bad move, at this point. Batman is solid, right now. The last Nolan movie has fans divided, but it's still solid. A reboot could jeopordise all of that. We all know Bruce Wayne's story, Batman Begins does not need a remake, it would be incredibly easy to reintroduce Batman in the Justice League.
But a Wonder Woman movie is a gorram necessity.

Give me a Green Lantern that is true to the character and mythos. Give me my favorite superhero! Everybody who loves scifi would looove GL! And Flash and Wonder Woman! GIVE ME DC CHARACTERS ON THE SILVER SCREEEN!

Cant wait for Man of Steeeel! Iron-Man 3 wasn't as good as i thought it would be, better than Iron-Man 2. Supes and Thor is where its at this year! Especially Supes!

A Flash movie is also quite needed, too.
And a GL movie by a suitable director such as Kosinski or Duncan Jones or even someone a like Ridley Scott wouldn't hurt.
Aquaman? Not really necessary at all.

AnthonyPilone01/ Facade@ So, you mean you want it to be set in the '60s and not have Cyborg? Because I can't see many other differences for a movie adaptation.

How can they doubt those movies. Studios make crap movies all the time. Those are sure wins.

"Hey, I have an idea. Let's tell the fanboys they won't get Justice League if they don't see Man of Steel."
"But isn't it obvious that we've already been working on making JL happen?"
"Telling the truth isn't going to make us money, asshole."
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 4/26/2013, 4:01 PM
In fact, if going to see Man of Steel means we're going to get a Justice League film, before a Wonder Woman or Flash film, then why the fvck would we give any of our money to see Man of Steel?! Even if it's the greatest film ever made, it seems that if we support it, then we are supporting the evetual fvcking up of a potential DCCU.

Agreed, everyone knows Batman's story and with MoS... It'll be a good time to get WW off the ground with an easy transition to JL...

"And I think we will all be happy when that comes down.”

So basically they've decided to approve production. Now all that stands in the way of WB actually pulling the trigger and sending word down officially is MoS'box office (preferably with both a kick ass opening weekend and a #1 position for a good while before seeing drop off).

Best of luck to Snyder, Cavill and all the rest. The idea of a full on megabudget crossover Justice League film that's not some stand alone throw-away for anyone who grew up on Superfriends all the way to the Justice League 'toon would be something to behold within our lifetime. Here's hoping WB gets it right from here on in.

I honestly don't think Wonder Woman should get her own film. She works better as a JLA member, and I'd rather have her introduced there. I could see them doing a Flash movie, though. Oh, and a World's Finest film is a MUST.

WB is chickenshit..just follow Marvel Studios lead dummies.
Marvel keeps cranking out quality films based on cool characters & are not scared like WB/DC.

Yea they messed up Green Lantern but comic book films are so popular now & DC has a ton of possible characters to use, pick one & do it right fools!

Please please please WB/DC just give me a great Wonder Woman movie that doesn't degrade her character and what she can be.Wonder Woman is one of my favorite characters and she is one of the most iconic superheroes in existence and she deserves just as much respect as Superman and Batman gets and I can' wait for the day that I can buy a ticket to see her movie.

Also to people saying she shouldn't get her own movie or movies with female leads dont sell....please proceed to pull your head out of your ass and do some actual research.
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 4/27/2013, 2:00 PM
JatevinM@ Yeah, the last female superhero movie that I can remember was Supergirl. That was a long, long time ago. A time when Superman was in The Quest For Peace. Supergirl was a lot better and more succesful than the Quest for [frick]ing Peace. Also, times have really changed a lot since then.
And no, Elektra and Catwoman don't count. They were villians turned heroes. And the Catwoman character wasn't even from the comics.
So you might as well look at films with female protaganists, which you'll find do just as well as those films with male protaganists.
And that's not even taking films like Underworld into consideration.
It's stupid, outmoded, misogynistic and bad business. Wonder Woman would make a shitload of money. You don't just sit on a huge potential franchise like that.
Just treat the Wonder Woman film as if it were Man of Steel or The Dark Knight Trilogy. Not Green Lantern.

Im probably going to be bitched at for saying this, but i am personally a fan of continuity and its one of the many things that helps Marvel films out (ie:sam jackson as fury,RDJ as iron man in multiple films),therfore i think DC should find a way to use Bale and Reynolds in JLA.I know that people hated GL,but Reynolds could have been better with the right script, and after 3 movies with Bale as Batman i think that the general public would accept JLA easier with Bale. And i dont think it would be impossible to make that happen.Just because of the grounded feel of the Dark Knight Trilogy is what it is,it doesnt need to rule out a possibility of ot being a part of the broader DC universe.
