I see where Jim is coming from but Mark Millers response has so much more merit.
The first Kick Ass didn't promote violence, sure it had lots of it but we also saw the severe consequences of their actions.

Carey knew what he was signing up for. He's an idiot for doing a movie for a pay check then when he gets the money suddenly having a change of heart.

Also isnt Careys character against the use of guns ? It's a good set of morals to have in the movie, so he can't complain about that.

Yeah I agree with Fettastic. The things which happened in te comics were really toned down in the first movie, and the second series of the comics were much more violent than the first. And as we know, when Mother Russia is attacking the Police, we know that in the comics something very dark and quite frankly, disgusting happened. I am not quite sure if they are gonna go with this in the movie, but If they do, then I completely understand where Carrey is coming from

Jim Carrey did his part in the film, shouldn't matter what his personal beliefs are.

i've always thought that the endless hunger for big guns has something to do with having a very small penis.

I wish the first movie used the meat cleaver like the comic book did. That jetpack gatling gun thing was so stupid.

I hope the studio goes after a part of Carrey's contract. Most acting contracts include promoting the film, doing the talk show circuits and whatnot...

Carrey's a hasbeen and it makes me chortle with glee that his remarks are actually helping the movie!

Let's see how much extra money these trailers bring in compared to the extra money Jim Carrey's one statement brings in. I'd say Carrey will end up being the biggest promoter of this film, even if he didn't intend it to be that way.. or did he?

The thing that bothered me about the comments was that, as a person who totally supported him on his anti-gun comments and the Cold Dead Hand video which I thought was genius, this feels like he's done the 'movement' (for lack of a better term) a disservice. I'm pro gun-control laws but violence in film, TV or video-games etc has nothing to do with real life violence. In fact it acts as an outlet, we save insane levels of violence for fiction. Carrey doesn't seem to think that and that's disappointing.
