According to Variety, Jeph Loeb's time as Head of Marvel Television will soon come to an end, as Kevin Feige gains control of all Marvel operations, not just the film division.
It was initially reported that Loeb would be reporting to Feige, but the latest news is that Loeb will instead be seeking a similar position at another company.
In the Summer of 2015, following years of internal conflict between Marvel Entertainment Chairman Ike Perlmutter and Feige, Disney mediated a compromise that saw Feige gain autonomous control of Marvel's film division, while Perlmutter would have final say over television projects, with Loeb overseeing day-to-day operations. Thanks to an impressive string of box office juggernauts, Feige was given 100% control over Marvel exactly 1 week ago.
According to Bob Iger's new memoir The Ride of a Lifetime, it was Perlmutter who was blocking Feige from moving forward with Black Panther and Captain Marvel films. Loeb's final projects on the books will be the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and forthcoming seasons of Helstrom and Runaways on Hulu.
