This Spring is shaping up to be an exciting time for LEGO fans, and we were recently able to take a closer look at some of their Easter holiday offerings. As we're sure you're aware, the 2022 Formula 1 season has begun, and it's shaping up to be a thrilling battle between Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. However, McLaren has also made a major impact so far this year.
Lando Norris was third on the podium yesterday, and we had a blast checking out the LEGO Technic Formula 1 Race Car boasting the team's iconic colours. A collaboration between the LEGO Group and McLaren Racing, the LEGO Technic designers worked closely with the designers at McLaren Racing.
Both sets of experts developed their model at the same time, making this a very special collaboration. Just like the real car, this LEGO Technic version features a V6 cylinder engine with moving pistons, steering, suspension and differential. The detail on the car is insane, and a must-have for F1 fans.
We also got to check out the BrickHeadz Spice Girls Tribute. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the Spiceworld album, it features all five girls and comes with authentic details such as Geri’s iconic Union Jack dress and Mel B’s animal print catsuit. Each figure stands on a baseplate, making these cool construction models the ideal display for any Spice Girls superfan (admit it, you're of them).
Pretty cool (and adorable), right?
Needless to say, there are lots of awesome sets coming throughout the year. Rumour has it that 2022 will be a big one for the Marvel brand, and after 2021's jaw-dropping Daily Bugle, we can't wait to see what's next. However, there are plenty already available to buy or right around the corner.
Among them are Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder (which appropriately arrives in stores on May 4), a new wave of Harry Potter sets, and even one based on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!
We'd also be remiss not to mention LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga! The game is now on sale - as are plenty of amazing new Star Wars LEGO sets - and we've been having a blast making our way through this one. Highlighting all nine movies, the game allows players to relive a whole host of iconic moments from the franchise...with a unique, often hilarious, LEGO twist on them, of course.
