The Big Screen Adaptation Of Mark Millar's NEMESIS May Finally Be Moving Forward
It's been stuck in development hell for what feels like forever but a new report points to Nemesis finally coming to the big screen in the very near future. Hit the jump for the latest we have on the film.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that, after 24 years at Warner Bros., Sue Kroll is stepping down and launching her own production company. It's a bold move but Kroll & Co. Entertainment is already lining up some big projects and the trade notes that Nemesis is among them. Ridley Scott and Jules Daly are also attached as producers but after almost four years of no movement, should we be excited?
It's hard to say for sure, especially as we don't know if Joe Carnahan's script is still going to be used and if he has any interest in directing. There's also no word on casting and with no word on when production might start, we could still be years away from seeing Mark Miller and Steve McNiven's comic book series become a reality. It is, however, good to know it's on the cards (the comic book sequel also never became a reality for reasons which sadly still aren't entirely clear as of right now).
If Nemesis does happen, it will no doubt be R-Rated but given the success of Deadpool and Logan, we know that can work. The comic told the story of a villain who had systematically been destroying the lives of every police chief in Asia before setting his sights on Washington, DC. where he clashes with a renowned police chief.
