Could KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE Lead To A NEMESIS Movie?

At one point names like Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Liam Neeson were being bandied around for a live-action adaptation of Mark Millar's Nemesis. Nearly five years after the prospects of a Nemesis movie were first reported, are we any closer to seeing the project come to fruition?

Though plans may have stalled on the Kick-Ass film franchise, Mark Millar's next comic book adaptation, Kingsman: The Secret Service is positioning itself to be the surprise hit of 2015 thanks to strong praise from just about every film critic that's seen it.  With that in mind, what will be the next Millarworld comic book to receive a big screen adaptation?  The Marvel Comics Civil War writer tells Red Carpet TV that it will either be Starlight or Chrononauts"Film wise, probably Starlight will be the next one.  Either Starlight or Chrononauts will be the next thing that gets filmed.  Hopefully at the end of this year.  The screenplays are being written right now. "

While Starlight and Chrononauts are definitely anticipated titles for a lot of comic book readers, fans have been waiting for a Nemesis movie since 2010!  At one point in time, names like Liam Neeson, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp were rumored to be attached to the project and Nemesis was even thought to be on the fast track at Fox. But with no visible traction in nearly five years, will  Nemesis ever see the big screen? Apparently a successful debut by Kingsman: Secret Service may help.  " I hope so.  They spent a lot of money on the screenplay.  Joe Carnahan wrote it, it's fantastic.   I think they're just waiting to see - I actually think Kingsman could be something that jumpstarts Nemesis.  The screenplay is sitting there...they're probably waiting to see how Kingsman does and then maybe something will happen from there.  But the script is finished. "

Joe Carnahan. Why does his name sound familiar? Was he the director who wanted to do a Daredevil reboot like set in the 60s for Fox or am I thinking of someone else?

Not really a fan of Miller's stuff but Kingsman looks awesome

probably not, because the movie seems as if it will flop. Hopefully not, but we'll see. I think it has that silly look to it, with Sam Jackson wearing a sideways hat and just him being over saturated in stuff anyway

I know that there is no sequel comic but I'd love to see a sequel film to Kingsman, it's brilliant, my favourite CBM to date.

God I hope not. Nothing screams feel good time at the movies like watching some one-dimensional rich asshole kill people because he's bored and kidnap the hero's children, impregnating his daughter with his son's sperm, and then rig her womb to collapse if she tries to have an abortion.

Mark Millar is a sellout whose work sells only on shock value. Nothing more.

I could live without another Millar movie or comic book.
He is the most overhyped comic writer of the past 20 years.

If it's going to get made, at least get Matthew Vaughn to direct. He seems to be the only person who can make the work of Mark Millar tolerable.

Kingsman is massively over-rated, with a majority of the problems coming from terrible characterisation, action scenes that drag on forever, forced terrible jokes and refrences, implied rape/threesome, a romance that just stops and Samuel L. Jackson deciding to play everything as a comedy

Samuel L. Jackson randomly plays a character similar to 'The Spirit' and is the only character played for comedy in an otherwise serious film, making the film have a very odd problem where any serious scenes with the villain are played for comedy.

Dont get me wrong, its an alright movie playing off the same beats as Kick-ass or Alex Rider and re-using aspects, but its not as good as everyone is hyping. Its an average film let down by a lot of things

Nemesis is one hell of a great story and idea. This movie, if done at all AND done right could be amazing.

@JohnnyCloud You're right that Millar is overhyped, but adaptations of his work have actually been pretty good so far. As long as they're not afraid to rewrite his story like they've done with his other movies, this should be good. He has brilliant ideas, he just goes overboard in executing them.
