Hey guys and gals. Its that time again, its comic review time. Once again I have changed my moniker to Aki87, to simplify it for one and to make it easier for you guys when posting a comment or reply. Anyway, today's gonna be a short but sweet review week. This weeks reviews are Green Lantern #55, Secret Avengers #2, and Thor #611.

Green Lantern #55: This issue is an all out brawl between Lobo and 4 lantern members. The issue is about Lobo seeking a bounty on Atrocitus while Jordan, Ferris, and Sinestro try to calm him down and keep the damage to the city a minimal. The beginning of this issue opens up with the Spectre out seeking to pass judgment on his next target. Meanwhile, the 4 lanterns attack at Lobo with all their might, Hal ends it all by giving Lobo threatening like speech. Lobo leaves them with a little surprise for later. I really enjoyed this issue, once again Johns keeps doing amazing work on this title, he's steering us and the title into a good direction and the artwork is once again stellar for this book. I give this issue an A+

Secret Avengers #2: The story picks up after Agent Sharon is recovering after being knocked out by the strange cult being lead by Nick Fury(?). The issue then focuses mainly on the S.A. On Mars, they search for Nova in a Mining Site where they come across some “dangerous” foes. The team splits to cover more ground, War Machine and Ant-man come across a strange exploding object, Rogers and Beast come across a giant alien man thing, and Moon Knight, Black Widow, and Valkyrie come across Nova with the serpents crown on his head. The issue ends with him charging towards them. This issue sold me on the series, I love the story, right off the bat we are thrown into action and a totally cool setting. The characters play off each other so and have snappy come backs for one another. The artwork is fantastic and the series is keeping a good pace at the moment. I give this issue a B+

Thor #611: This is the final arc of the this current team, and so far it is going off with a good start. The issue primarily deals with the Bor's women who are stuck in OUR hell fighting off demons they are forbidden to eat, one goes to Mephisto and makes a bargain to go into Hela's Hel and munch on those souls. Hela is displeased and then asks for the Asgardians to provide assistance which says the most epic yell “TO HELL” and that's how the issue ends. I loved this issue, it gives us more of an expanded look on what happened with Hela after he events of Siege: Loki, she is still drop dead sexy(no pun intended) and this actually surprised me in terms of the plot, I believed that Thor was gonna go into Hell to make amends with his dead brother, maybe that's later but that's for later. The moments with Thor are great, he gives a touching eulogy for his fallen brother. I can't wait to see how this arc and his run comes to an end. I give this issue an A++

Speaking of Thor, next week I will buying, reading, and reviewing a new Thor series called THOR: THE MIGHTY AVENGER. I love the look of it just from the cover, it seems to be more of a throwback to the old story's of Thor, seeing how Odin is still there. From the way its described on the Marvel site it seems to be Action driven rather than it being Story and Character driven the current series is doing, but hey the more the merrier as I say. Also coming next week is the beginning of the Shadowland event which I will be reviewing, its exempt from my new policy to only read main series and no miniseries, considering that the event has ties to the overall world I will allow that, plus I made an article about it so I must review it. And with that said that's for all this week's reviews. I hope you all get to read these and I want to hear your comments. Aki87 out!!!!

@dellamorta..I don't think Thor: TMA is one shot...it mentions its gonna be a bi-monthly series. You really have it out for Valkyrie, she's really down played in this issue.

Awesome Review bro!
Green Lantern 55 was definately a pure brawl between Lobo and Atrocitus.
Secret Avengers 2 is the best Avengers team book right now in my opinion. Ed is the master of balanced pacing and the end was cool. Can't wait to see what happens when the team battles against a powerhouse like Nova!

The only problem I had with SA #2 was the interactions between Ant man and Rhodey. Rhodey is so tough on O Grady for some reason but still great issue.
