Two titans are clashing at the box office next summer, and I'm not talking about Wrath of the titans.

Easily the two most anticipated movies next year are The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. Both will be highly successful, but who is going to bring in the most money during that opening weekend. Now by no means is this a Marvel vs DC kinda thing. I don't believe in that. Both are great franchises, there will never be any reason to pick sides, I just want to look at some of the facts. So let's size up these two behemoths.

It's very hard to decide on which movie will gross more,because both the films are very high anticipated. The only thing that Matvel beats DC is the promotion,looks as if it needs abit more to catch up the viewer's attention.

why bother both looks great,some will love tdkr,some avengers and others will love both and some won't. My bets are on tdkr though after all we'll see an actual ending of a CBM

Interesting ideas, though he seems to be focusing more on the opening weekends. Not exactly sure how New Year's Eve is relevant, that crap made 13 million its opening weekend and its staying power is not impressive at all. Box Office Mojo seems to think TDKR is at least guaranteed a domestic total north of 400 million. Personally I think Avengers is guaranteed at least 350 million domestic.

Actually, IDK but I'd probably say TDKR will make the most. But I hope the Avengers will because we need Marvel to get a lot of money so they can make more movies! WB will make money no matter what, and will only if it does get a lot of money from Batman, will only make more Batman movies. Nothing else really. Although hopefully both will do very well! :) And we can get even more good DC and Marvel movies!

FOR THE LAST [frick]ING TIME, MONEY HAS SHIT ON THE MOVIE!For me, Avengers will be the better movie, colorful costumes, sci-fi, amazing cast and director, and it's A COMIC BOOK MOVIE!!Not a crime drama!

Another thing, it's hilarious that Batman is the only thing keeping WB up and running, and it gets better when they announce it to the public, then CBM's editor's put it on main!!!!!

TDKR > Avengers, box office, but both will be blockbusters and make pots of money. Amazing Spidey bites it and is a modest flop (considering the high price tag). The Hobbit wins the 2012 box office crown handily.

and The Avengers completely kicks ass.
