Could Marvel Have Plans For A Space Epic Down The Line?

Kevin Feige President of Marvel Studios, gives his take on which superheroes may be making their way to the big screen and possibly across the Galaxy!!

According to an interview with SFX Magazine (via MTV Splash) President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige would like to see characters like Dr. Strange, Ant Man, Iron Fist and The Black Panther up on the big sreen.

We have heard this before from Feige.

Here is where it gets interesting. This is what he had to say about Marvels Cosmic heroes.

"I'd love to break into the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe even more — it's kind of there in 'Thor,'" he said. "J.J. Abrams' 'Star Trek' got me jonesing to do that. It's what I grew up on — 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars.' I want to do a big space epic. And we've got them in Marvel."

Could we see something epic like Nova or Warlock in the future? Possibly The Silver Surfer or Gaurdians of the Galaxy. Marvel certainly has a surplus of cosmic characters to pull from.
I sure hope to see some of them.

Who would you like to see up on the big screen?

They could adapt those Infinity miniseries into one of more films, as well as Annihilation and War of Kings.

Nice.

It's too bad the Silver Surfer movie is still in Fox's hands. That would be perfect for Marvel's "space epic"

But I want to see an Iron Fist and Luke Cage movie damn it!

dell: Was it ? I didn't see it.
I'm looking, but not finding anything where he discusses this topic. If someone knows where it is I'll delete this.
I read Ror and josh's articles. They don't touch on this.

I would like to see an Infinity trilogy, were all the heroes in the universe attempt to prevent Thanos from ruling it.You could use all of your cosmic characters in one movie.

Captain Marvel
Nova
Moondragon
Drax
Pip
Adam Warlock
Quasar
Gamora
RedDevil

I'd say NOVA is the only one that can pull off a great space epic for Marvel but when against the green lantern I think Gl would win.

Nova could probably be the best but Silver Surfer would be good too

as far as cosmic, SILVER SURFER, hands down. he could carry an interesting movie and, if it's epic enough, other cool characters could brought in like nova, captain marvel, etc.

but . . . although infinity gauntlet is my favorite comic story in history, i don't think it's the right stuff for a major motion picture. it's not mainstream enough, and characters like pip and gamora just wouldn't go over with ticket buyers. i could be wrong, but i doubt it. like i said, though, infinity gauntlet is my favorite comic storyline ever. maybe animated?

Starjammers all the way! So much kickass potential there. I may be a bit biased though...

Silver Surfer would kick ass. If they wanted to pick up after FF2 (which I'd seriously doubt) they could have him saved by the Inhumans while drifting in Earth's orbit, then go all sorts of crazy from there. I know an Inhumans movie is highly unlikely, but I really hope to at least see them portrayed somewhere down the line. Nova would get my vote too. Some Thanos action with a Captain Marvel Movie. Lots of good stuff

If not the Surfer,i go with Captain Mar-Vell. They would have the chance to feature 2 alien species at least. Origin story with the whole plot about Krees and Skrulls(eventually only mentioning Thanos,or Drax or someone other). At the end Marvell on earth meeting Ric Jones. Enough for the first movie

LOL @ MisterFixit.

I think Marvel should go with someone besides Nova for their first Space hero due to the similaritlies between him and Green Lantern. Don't get me wrong I love Nova but I think the whole Nova corps thing would be looked at as imitating.

luv it luv it luv it LOVE IT! There is absolutely MOUNTAINS of potential for a movie like this!!!

God i can't even imagine the epic ammounts of coolness possible if they did a space epic with cosmic characters.

SS is an obvious start... but you could you imagine a movie about Quasar?? Or Captain Marvel? Hells bells! They could do a movie about the Heralds of Galactus VS The Elders of The Universe! Cameo with Ego and Super Skrull! The possibilities are endless!

Space comics are the next step for comic book movies for sure. I like how Marvel is doing Thor bring Gods into the equation hopefully DC sees this as a good time to bring in a movie like the New Gods that introduces Highfather, Darkseid, Orion, and Mister Miracle. Thanos, Silver Surfer, Warlock, Mephisto done properly, Quasar, Nova, Captain Marvel, an Xmen movie with the real Phoenix saga would make tons of money with the Shiar empire either way i hope Marvel gets the rights back for all of their characters
