Okay for those that don't know, Family Guy is an American animated television sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a dysfunctional family consisting of Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and their pet dog Brian. The show uses frequent cutaway gags, often in the form of tangential vignettes which parody American culture.
"Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" is an upcoming hour-long episode of the FOX animated series Family Guy and the sequel episode to the Star Wars parody "Blue Harvest". It will retell the story of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as "Blue Harvest" did with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, recasting characters from Family Guy into roles from the film. It was originally scheduled to air as the 7th season finale, but has been pushed back to season 8. Like the previous installment, the poster for "Dark Side" is based on the design of an actual Star Wars poster.
Like Blue Harvest, the episode will be released on DVD, and for the first time in the series' history—the episode will be also be available on Blu-ray disc. Both sets will be released on December 22, 2009 in Canada and the U.S.A., December 23, 2009 in Australia and New Zealand, and December 28, 2009 in the U.K. As with Blue Harvest before it, a limited edition will also be available and will come with collectable items including a t-shirt.
Trailer below:
Both sets have the following bonus features:
* Audio commentary by Seth MacFarlane with Mark Hentemann, David A. Goodman, Kirker Butler, Dominic Polcino and Seth Green
* "Something Something Something" Pop-Up Video
* The Dark Side of Poster Art
* An animatic version of the episode
* Deleted scenes
* The Blu-ray release will have a second disc containing a "digital copy" of the episode.
