Gemma Arterton (trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), is now shooting the comic book movie in West Dorset and London.
The story of Tamara goes, when she was a teenager, she had major issues with the way she looked, so in her early twenties she turned herself into a hot stunning beauty with cosmetic surgery on her nose and she loses a lot of weight.
Tamara then returns to her small country town from where she grew up and engages with the locals in their many country concerns.
Tamara gets ants in her pants and becomes romantically involved with 3 different guys; Andy (Luke Evans): the dashing groundskeeper, Ben (Dominic Cooper): handsome rock band drummer and Nicholas (Roger Allam): the philandering literary retreat organiser. Oh and also Nicholas's ball and chain, the wife lol, played by Tamsin Greig.
Gemma said she knows a lot of people just like comic book gal Tamara. 'Lost in her expectations of being a modern woman in today's world - the expectations of beauty and success - when what really desires is to be loved'.
The adaption's based on the graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, it's a Stephen Frears film and the feature will be released sometime next year by BBC Films and distributor Momentum, once they sort out all the film festivals and dates for the picture.
Next stop for Gemma is going to be "Prince of Persia" and many thanks from The Daily Mail for the heads up and TEABAG.
