It was a Marvel/DC crossover that's ended up going horribly wrong. After two years of marriage, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlet Johansson are breaking up and it looks like their comic book roles are to blame...

Rumours began to surface earlier this year that the Hollywood pair’s relationship was on rocky ground. Well, it looks like this is the end for the DC hero recently voted the world's sexiest and the Marvel temptress!



In a joint statement that the two stars released earlier today, the duo had this to say:

"After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."


The rumours that are currently circulating online are that the pair were experiencing problems as a result of their competing work schedules. With Reynolds busy with Green Lantern and Johansson's schedule full up with Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, it looks like their relationship couldnt survive a Green Lantern/Black Widow face off.

'Tis the season of divorce. Dexter and his onscreen sister are also getting a divorce. Not that I particularly care about either couple.

I am, however, incredibly sad that my best friend informed me last night that he's getting divorced. Not that anyone else particularly cares about that.

DAMNIT! I had a gag i wanted to do for my Deadpool series, that had to have had them together. It was a parody of the rape scene in Clockwork Orange.

-RR and Scarlett would have been the couple (Dressed in a GL costume and Black Widow costume before kinky sex), and a few Deadpool clones would have been the Droogs.

It's hollywood, what did you expect? They've been married 2 years? They've been on borrowed time over half of that! Surprised they made it this long!
