Idris Elba Eyeing Up 100 Bullets

Idris Elba Eyeing Up 100 Bullets

The star of the upcoming Losers movie is very interested in another Vertigo adaptation(if it happens!): 100 Bullets.

First John Cusack throws his name in the Preacher ring, now Idris Elba is eyeing up 100 Bullets. If all of these DC Vertigo titles actually make the silver screen I will be very happy!

Slashfilm caught up with the star of HBO's The Wire to talk to him about playing Roque in The Losers(more on that as we have it) and unlike Cusack, he knew exactly what he wanted...

"There’s a thing that Vertigo do called 100 Bullets. I like that. I think it could be an interesting little thing. I’ve just started reading it and it could be quite interesting."

There hasn't been any official word that an adaptation of Brian Azarello and Eduardo Risso’s comic is even in the works, just rumors. But if Elba was to nab a role, there are a number of juicy ones in there.

Vertigo has some really good stuff. Animal Man anyone? Not to mention the great Sandman series.

Upupandaway-- I'm all for Sandman as long as it doesn't end up like Mirrormask.

gtrman-- Probably not.

100 Bullets could be really good. It could also end up being shallow action movie crap with a cast of 3rd level rappers.

NICE! ELBA is a great actor......"The Wire" anyone?

@GTRMAN-

I'm sure it's just a typo, whenever i've heard this guy speak he's always sounded extremely well-spoken.

SANDMAN is a fantastic Vertigo comic, so's ANIMAL MAN for that matter, both need adapting soon!

He'd be great as Cole Burns.

@Lee: I think Sandman would work better for animation, especially with Delirium and all of the reality bending stuff. Think Batman: TAS quality, but really, really weird.
