Marvel and DC copying

Marvel takes ideas from DC and vice versa

Nobody knows how much it annoys me when comic company's copy off each other.
DC and Marvel do it the most but it is not just those two.An example is Image creating Gen13 after GenX.The biggest is DC copying the civil war in count down to final crisis. There was a copy of all the x-men(Zen-men),a group called The Meta Militia are based on the Marvel Comics team the Avengers, in particular the version known as the Initiative, and the alternate version called the Ultimates, and just about every character featured in civil war.But Marvel has their fair share of copying to.Like Wade Wilson(Deadpool)is copyed from DC's Slade Wilson(Deathstroke).Plus plenty of others.

Sometimes when they copy they change the character and make them more enjoyable
but it still annoys me a little. Some times I can see how this happens.I mean at times writers and artists switch to a new company.I guess I should of worded it differently, instead of copying I should of put parodying for money.

It dosn't just happen in comics. It happens in everything.Give me your opinions on the article and how i should fix it up.

Well I wouldn't call it copying so much as paying homage, evolving and/or parodying. I mean as long as they use ideas well who cares where it came from?

i would be very surprised if hawkeye and green arrow aren't copied from whichever came out first.

not sure about this one but batman and iron man are very similar.

i remember hearing about how DC sued the pants of off Fawcett comics for Captain Marvel, claiming they copied Superman.

kinda pathetic, all the ones that are true. no matter who you like better, you have to give a lot of the credit in these situations to DC, because they have been around since the 30's, long before Marvel

its been happening for years.

deadpool-deathstroke.

hawkeye & mockingbird-green arrow & black canary.

i think both dc & marvel copy each others charactors, just for the sole reason that they see how popular a certain charactor is for their rival & they try make one for their company.

Damn, you must be upset all the time, because everything from comics, movies, TV, video games, music and pretty much anything creative involves copying something else, to some extent.

@anil...I agree with ya. If this was a more well thought out and a longer written article then there may be some merit to it being posted.

@Deadpool72...Deathstroke is a more precession and methodically assassin, Deadpool is nearly impossible to figure out what he will do

Its totally natural for Marvel and DC to have similar characters, but its how they implement those tropes and stereotypes the characters are best known for. I'm sure that Atlas comics will be doing the same once they re-launch in the coming months

lets not forget Marvel killing Cap, and then DC killing Batman, only to have both of their "souls" trapped in time. lame.

Cap's death was one of the best deaths ever done in comics, but then it got totally ruined with that return story.

Lets also not forget that writers and editors flop back and forth from different companies all the time. So it is possible that they take ideals to each other and then they follow through with whom every their with. Dc,Marvel,Image, ect.
