First off I wasn't 100% sure whether or not to post this here because they don't have anything to do with comic book movies but neither did
Battleship and people posted news on that. So back to the topic. Hasbro announced a deal with production company Emmett/Furla Films to finance and co-produce three films based on Hasbro properties in the next two years. The three movies are a Monopoly movie, Action Man, and Hungry, Hungry Hippos. Some of these movies are excepted to be animated. The first movie to be produced will be Monopoly, which is slated to begin production in 2013.
Randall Emmett, who will produce all three Hasbro films along with partner George Furla and Brandon Grimes, had this to say.
“We are thrilled to be working with Hasbro. Their iconic brands have translated into great entertainment enjoyed by audiences of all ages worldwide. We look forward to a very successful partnership and to bringing Monopoly to the big screen.”
I also found this rumor. It appears the Great Nicolas Cage may star in the Hungry, Hungry Hippos movie. In an interview with Weekend Update, which had both Nicolas Cage and Liam Nesson, Nicolas Cage says he will play rogue marble that escapes from hell to exact revenge on the Hippos that killed his daughter. Take a look at the interview:
*The Nic Cage rumor is false. It is just a little joke. The part about the 3 Hasbro movies is true but the part with Nic Cage is a joke. Don't take it serious.
