NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO). Scott Franklin and Aronofsky of Protozoa Pictures, along with Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment, will produce the film. The film will be executive produced by Ari Handel (BLACK SWAN), Arnon Milchan of New Regency and Chris Brigham (INCEPTION, ARGO).

Noah is directed by Darren Aronofsky, and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Anthony Hopkins. It hits theaters March 28th, 2014.

Only thing I see going for this movie is Aronofsky's name.
Emma Watson looks like a young boy. Which is cool if that's your kind of thing. Not gonna judge. I kinda dig it actually.

@CrimsonFlash Funny, when I don't care about something, I just don't comment. You didn't see me on the "Thor 3 gets a writer" article did you?

March 28? The movie is coming out March 28?

There has been barely any marketing for this movie and they are expecting people to show up to see this. I think not.

Between Crowe, Hopkins, Emma Watson, and a household story that everyone knows, you would expect this movie to do quite well...

But for some reason, I think this might bomb.

I pray they have stayed true the story.

From the trailer and the cast, to the various Australian and British/Cockney sounding accents that really don't belong, I'd say they've already taken liberties.

This TV spot says it's the 'untold story'.
Nuff said?

I don't care about this movie but I'll basically watch anything Emma Watson is in.

To be fair, the biblical version is vey vague and skims over a lot of narrative, as well as having two distinct versions of the story so if aranofsky looked to the book of Enoch to flesh of the story then i think maybe might hold off on pouring lighter fluid on the heresy stake until we see the movie

Since we can only speculate about what the preSumerian language and even if we did we'd have to have subtitles anyway so I really don't care what the accents are as it's a dramatization

" close adaptation" of what?
The Noah section of genesis?
The book of Enoch ?
Aranofskys novel?
The saccharine Sunday school version?

What's the version that it needs to be close to ?

Umm, the true story? Much like Spiderman, Batman, a white Jesus and dinosaurs, Noah is fictitious story. It's like saying Rudolf has a red nose because he got herpes from smelling Mrs. Clause's panties too closely.

No, I'm serious , ok, usually I'm a goof and not serious, but now I'm serious

The bible has 2 versions of the story and all it is is :
Noah builds a boat for 40 years
The world is bad , lots of awful people
There are "giants" And everyone is basically used to it
It rAins, people die
The ark rests on a mountain and Noah gets drunk

It's a plot but not a narrative not a script

Where did the giants come from? Why? Where did the fallen come from?
What does nephelim even mean ? The bible is very cagey on this
The book of Enoch elaborates a lot

lol someone's panties are all in bunch. Don't get the herpes, they keep coming back to bite ya.
