Latinoreview.com has gotten a exclusive tip that the top contender and the guy most likely to land the Directors Chair for Robert Rodriguez version of Predator is Nimród Antal.

When I first heard the name I had to chuckle and then learned that Nimrod directed ARMORED and VACANCY and still I was not familiar with Nimrod. I mean with a name like Nimrod one would remember.

Pretty sure no one has signed the dotted line yet but I am sure that Harry over at AICN will be sending a letter to Robert Rodriguez to get the skinny,,er, umm I mean Nimrod,, of the story.

Vacancy was meh. It started off good but ended badly. But the cinematography was pretty good.

I agree with Teabag. What happened to the guy who directed Dog Soldiers and the Descent? That guy knows monsters!

@longbowhunter
you really think the guy who made the Descent knows monsters? Really? I honestly thought the Descent was complete rubbish.

I hope they get a big ensenmble cast like the original, or a big name cast like The EXPENDABLES.

Vacancy was adequate. I need to see Armored before I pass judgement.

Vacancy was an enjoyable movie. Is Hollywood so lacking in creativity that they have to keep going back to old movies and "rebooting"?

Yes garzaaj64, I liked the Descent. Its far from being a classic in my eyes, but I thought it was good. Especially for a modern horror film. When I posted "..really knows monsters" I was actually speaking of the werewolves in Dog Soldiers. If anyone recalls Dog Soldiers won best indy horror film of 2003 I believe.

You know what would be interesting? If Arnold Schwarzenneger (The now retired Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer) meets with Segourney Weaver (the great great grand mother of Future Ellen Ripley) to fight off Aliens and Predator. At least a cameo. I know it sounds campy but just for the fun of it.

i haven't seen Vacancy or Armored but one of my favorite movies of all time is written and directed by Nimrod...it's a Hungarian movie called Kontroll and it's absolutely amazing. I'm excited to know that there is possibility of him and RR taking over Predator...that franchise has needed a worthy reboot for a long time. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373981/
