Alex Ross' ultra-realistic, painted renditions of iconic superheroes have made him a superstar. In the vein of acclaimed and fan-favorite Alex Ross books such as Mythologies and Rough Justice, we are proud to present the ultimate collection of Alex Ross art from his extensive collaboration with Dynamite, The Dynamite Art of Alex Ross. Containing sketches, designs, layouts and pencils, interior work, covers, and a wealth of unpublished art, The Dynamite Art of Alex Ross can be found at comic stores everywhere this coming November!

"For all people who had been interested in my art before but may not have taken a close look at the many projects I've served on with Dynamite Entertainment, this book is the perfect collection of all of that work in one," says legendary artist Alex Ross. "I'm thrilled to finally have a portfolio-like collection of these images that can stand next to my work with other publishers."

"Alex Ross's artwork hit the comics industry like an atom bomb, ushering in a new era of heroic realism," states Marvels and Kirby: Genesis collaborator Kurt Busiek. "And the shockwaves are still echoing. I've been working with Alex for over 20 years now, and new work from him is always a thrill."

Personally, I'd CLEAR art galleries of what passes for modern art; cigarette packets glued to the wall etc and I'd replace them with comic book art. Ross's art is breathtaking and spectacular. I LOVE IT!

Wonder when they are going to do a new The Phantom movie?!
That character needs movie love!

Today it could do much better than that Billy Zane version from ´96 which actually wasnt that bad. I mean it was bad!... But i have seen films that sucked more!;D

So the new Phantom movie!... Would you find yourself a director and screenwriter so we could see a proper version of you in the big screen!:)

Its funny by the way!... Here in Finland The Phantom´s costume is blue!;)

And i dont remember which European country it was but The Phantom´s costume is red there.

love his stuff as cover art but sometimes when it's interior work it looks strange next to the speech bubbles - it's kind of a testament to the quality of his work

He's a great watercolourist and draftsman. He relies so heavily on photo reference,I'd like to see what he can achieve with pure imagination.I have a hunch it'd bring out some wilder ideas and designs. His work to date has seemed so posed simply because it's from photo's. Working from the imagination allows you to exagerate poses and angles/perspective for effect. I would really love to see some of his work with that kind of drama.

The photo reference also makes his superheroes look a bit like cosplayers lol

I love Alex Ross's work! I dont think I could read a comic if all the inside art was this style mind, but I think it's perfect for cover art and perhaps Splash-Pages and whatnot.

I agree with Froggy. I would love to see him draw some contemporary superheroes! That would be cool.
