On Monday, I asked you all who your favourite main villain of the summer was in a comic book movie; and now the results are in. The choices were between, Loki from The Avengers, The Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man and Bane from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. But, the real battle of the poll was between The Avengers' Loki and TDKR's Bane, while The Lizard was left in the dust with only 2% of CBM fans in his favour. So, which big baddie won the proceedings with 4,125 (54%) of the total votes? Check out the full results down below!

Surprised, considering Bane was revealed as a goon in the end. So was Loki, but he was doing his own thing too.

Both were good in their own ways. Still TDKR is nowhere as good as TDK, and Bane is no good as Ledger's Joker

Ha! The Lizard is barely in these results. I bet whoever the bad guy in Ghost Rider 2 was, would've ranked higher...

@comiccow I see it as Bane was to Talia, as Vader was to the Emperor. Except the Emperor didn't love Vader like Bane loved Talia ;).

Loki was much more engaging from an emotional stand point. Bane didn't have enough time to develop otherwise he would've been epic if it was his intention to play mind games with Bruce.A little too straight forward for me!

I liked Bane better. Loki was more of a been there done that villain for me. Effective, but not fascinating at all. He was actually really boring in my opinion save for that one scene with Black Widdow when he was in captivity.

I would have them ranked:

Bane
Lizard
Loki

I know hardcore fans will jump down my throat, but there just wasn't anything to Loki. He was pretty much the same character from Thor. However instead of wanting to rule Asgard he wanted to rule Midgard. There was little depth to the character or his motivations.

The poll reflects my own opinion. Bane was my favorite and Loki was really good too. I had high hopes for the Lizard but I was let down. Cool poll. Great year for CBMs.

Whaaaaat? Lol, crazy how Loki sided with an alien army and is a god, himself, yet really lacked any on-screen intimidation. I loved him, but yes -- wasn't intimidating at all. Bane was creepy as hell, but Joker gave me chills, even though he was from before. Glad Bane won that one. Deserves it by far.

In the end it doesn't really matter both got taken out like bitches in the end and defeated in an utterly anti-climatic way. Also I'm not counting the lizard because I didn't see TASM.

loved both movies. but im a huge batman fan, so tdkr was my vote.

A lot of the villains intimidating factors are directly driven by the script and director. Because the avengers was an assembly movie the focus had to be more on the heroes. I liked Loki not because he was intimidating but because he was sufficient. He traded blows with Hawkeye, Captain America, Ironman, Thor, and got smashed by Hulk. Not only that but he made a threat (aliens) that could make magic, tech, and time displacement believable together.
Bane defeated a retired, notably injured, and old Batman. Then took over the city for a couple of months waiting for a bomb to blow up. Then got blown up by Catwoman after getting his @$$ whooped by that same "retired, notably injured, and old Batman". Only this time he recovered from a broken spine with some shotty jail health care and 3 months healing and training.

I like Avengers and TDKR equally in quality and importance but Loki FTW.

Personally I think Ras Al Ghul was villain of the year.

Loki and bane were both awesome in different ways, although I agree that Bane comes out slightly on top because we there was a bit of mystery about him, and we had seen Loki before. Lizard sucked imo.
