Superman Plays a Spirited Role in Batman: Noel

In a preview from Wired magazine, it's revealed that the Man of Steel will be making a Dickensian-like appearance in Lee Bermejo's upcoming (next Wednesday) graphic novel, Batman: Noel, which is inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

thats some really surreal style artwork...but does it have any place in the continuity of the new 52

Yeah, the art is BOSS in this! And i can't help but love these warped Elseworlds stories, just like the Stray Bullets story where Superman actually starts off as being Batman before he finds himself :)

Its cool but they already did this same thing really well in Batman: Haunted Knight.

Nowadays, this is our idea of a Dickensian appearance by Superman:

Batman has gotta be so pissed. He hates being carried around by Superman, and now he's getting carried around AND preached too.

Superman's face looks a bit goofy in those pages. Probably isn't the new 52 given Superman found his actual costume including trunks and isn't angry with red glowing eyes

@MassExecutions That's the first thing I thought! Batman is gonna go and get his kryptonite armor and punch Kal-El in the face after this one. All I could do was here him bitchin out Superman lol

Love Bermejo's art and designs. I loved "Joker" and "Luthor" and was hoping he'd do something from the hero's perspective. But I wans't expecting this. i'd really like to see him do a Batman/Superman graphic novel.

Lee Bermejo is awesome.

Now, please someone try to say these costumes wouldn't work in reality. I dare you.

Take note, Snyder.

As cool as the art is, is it just me or does Superman look like Fleischer there, on the right? LOL

@monkeyballs that's cause GL is a "cop". The high collar invokes some kind of authority. That's why it works for Aquaman too.

Although SUperman is seen as an autorothy figure by other heroes (at least used to in the real DCU), he doesn't see himself, nor act really, as one...

The art leaves very very little to be desired. Costume designs have never bothered me before, and this is no different.

Honestly, I don't understand why people put much stock into it. Seriously, be upset about hunger, poverty, and inequality.

Shit like costume designs? Say "Well, that was dumb" and move on.

@MrEko From what I heard, his having catwoman be the past, superman present and joker be future.

Still on the fence about this one. The artwork is amazing, but the plot I'm not entirely sure on...
