Amazing news! MTV is releasing it's classic "The Maxx" & "The Head" on DVD as of next year and we finally get to see this animation from the 1990s the way it should be seen, no news if it's on Blu-Ray though. Jungle bikinis here we come!

Publisher's Weekly noticed both these golden nuggets on Amazon and it says both complete series will be available soon, along with The Best of Rocko's Modern Life but not saying when as yet as no date.

Check out the animation below to see how fantastic these shows were and will be on DVD.

Sam Kieth creator of "The Maxx" first appeared and was published by Image Comics in the early 90's.

LEEE777 - I really liked all them original Image Comic books and this will be a must to buy and i remember "The Head" too so will be buying that also, fine additions to your DVD collection.

Great find LEEE!

I've been starvin for the MAXX for a long while. Even bought a cheesy home made DVD off ebay years back to get my fix. This will be nice...

Now if only MTV would package Alex Winter's classic "Idiot Box" series! That would be xmas all year long!

Im totally down for the Maxx... that was a pretty trippy comic n show. Still... Im pissed that they never transfered the "Maxx vs. Pitt" battle from I think issue 6 (?) from the comic to the cartoon. They just had a lil Maxx running around with an Izz. still sweet tho.

Great news! I love the MAXX and spent twenty bucks on a VHS bootleg a few years ago just to watch it again. I'll definitely be getting the DVD when it hits. I'll probably get The Head too, even if its not quite as good.

I loved the cartoon..never read the comic. I heard the reason that the ending of the show was so confusing was because it stopped the story at issue 11 of teh comic..which ran until issue 40 or something. Anyone know what happens to the rabbit headed nutjob?

ror, in the cartoon anyway it basically ends with Julie driving away in her car, and Maxx takes off his mask and outfit, revealing himself to be a gardner of sorts, revealing that the Outback is really a small greenhouse garden he works in.
In the comics it continues on after that though.

During the TV run, every now and then, a radio in the background would play this little song called, "I'm Want to Marry a Lighthouse Keeper." I think it was related to Mr Gone appearances.

When The Maxx was released on VHS, this song was replaced with a knock-off, using a similar form, called "I'm in Love with a School Bus Driver."

The Lighthouse song is a direct reference to A Clockwork Orange, which also used the song.

Presumeably, they had to change it for legal reasons.

I hope this DVD release restores the song!

At the outbreak 70-643 of World War I in 1914, 642-504 the United States 70-648 remained 642-456 neutral. Most Americans 650-195 sympathized with the British and French, although many 350-018 opposed intervention. In 1917, the 646-363 United States joined the Allies, 642-515 helping to turn the tide against 642-873 the Central Powers. After the 70-236 war, the Senate did not 1Y0-A08 ratify the Treaty of Versailles, which established JN0-100 the League of Nations. The country HP0-Y23 pursued a policy of unilateralism, 642-426 verging on 1z0-051 isolationism. In 1920, the women's rights movement 642-566 won passage of a constitutional amendment JN0-522 granting women's suffrage. The 70-433 prosperity of the Roaring Twenties test king ended with the Wall Street Crash of 1929 70-294 that triggered the Great Depression. After his election as president in 1932, Franklin D. Roosevelt responded with the New Deal, a range of policies increasing government intervention in the economy. The Dust Bowl of the mid-1930s impoverished many farming communities and spurred a new wave of western migration.
