After the critical and financial success of last year's The Muppets, Walt Disney Pictures didn't wait too long before greenlighting a sequel. Recently, we heard that Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz was set to play an Interpol agent in the film, which is described as a comedy caper set in Europe. James Bobin is returning to direct and co-write with Nicholas Stoller. Jason Segel, who both starred in and co-wrote the first movie, won't be involved with this film. Now, Collider have some new info for The Muppets 2. According to the site, the film is set to hit theaters December 20th, 2013, and producer Todd Lieberman offered some new details on the anticipated sequel. The Muppets 2 will be filmed at Pinewood Studio in London from late January until some time in April. Bret McKenzie is writing new songs, and we may be getting a new Muppet. Lieberman also says to expect more casting announcements very soon, so stay tuned to CBM for The Muppets 2 news in the near future.
