Top 5 comicbook movie casting choices

I've done the worst choices, now for the best

Just a small list I've compilled together. Remember that the choices are my opinion and not official. You would also notice that I have less and less to say as we go down the list.

5 Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
When Hugh Jackman was cast everyone was a little skeptical, he was a last minute replacement for Dougary Scott and to top that off, he had a career of singing and dancing. But when everyone witnessed the good job he did Hugh's career changed, for the better. Although I must admit I put him on the list due to his sheer dedication to the role.

4 Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach
I think this is the choice that everyone agrees with. From the way he moves to his voice, everything about this performence is spot on and I for one still think he should have got recognition for the performence outside the comicbook circle.

3 Christopher Reeve as Superman
Not much to say apart from the fact that Christopher Reeve is superman. The look was sheer perfection. Plus he had dedication because he appeared in superman 4.

2 Patrick Stewart as Professor X
I think hands down everyone wanted Stewart cast in the role. Ever since seeing him in Star Trek people could envision him as the professor.

1 Robert Downey jr as Iron Man
There was much speculation involving the role of Tony Stark. Many names were thrown around but no one really mentioned Robert Downey jr until he was indeed cast. Then people realised he was perfect. many stood up and said " Holy crap he's perfect!". And it was indeed true. If Tony Stark did live in the real world it would be Robert Downey jr.

Honerable mentions:
Ron Perlman as helboy
J.k. Simmons as J Jonah Jameson
Heath Ledger as the Joker
Thomas Jane as the Punisher
Wesley Snipes as Blade

Heath should've been on the list IMO. So should Hemsworth, his performance as Thor actually surprised me

Jane was nothing special as Punisher.

agree with Superman17. might would add Hemsworth as Thor. and Chris Evans as Cap. both great performances.

I pretty much agree with this list I might not have put it in the same order but it is still good. Haley as Rorschach was perfect after that performance he became one of my favorite actors.

Guess Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson didn't made the cut; surprising seeing those two are the ones that made Batman such a phenominal film of its own.

Actually people weren't saying what perfect casting choice Downey was when it was announced him and Ledgers casting were both controversial. People called Ledger too much of a pretty boy and the fact that he played gay cowboy meant he wasn't menacing enough. People said the Iron Man movie would never get made with Downey in the lead because he'd end up in rehab again and that he was [frick]ed up druggy(which he was at one point)but boy were the petulant little fan boys proven wrong. Oh and honestly there's so many actors that have nailed the roles they were handed in CBM's.

Ledger gave a great performance, but he did not look nor act like the Joker in the comics. Yes he was a psycopathic mad man, but the comparison ends there. If he had not died he would not be so critically acclaimed. I know I am gonna be attacked here, but you know what? In twenty years or less someone else will reprise the role of The Joker and many will say that his was the best. Many will say that Ledgers performance is old and outdated. That is just the way of it. In my mind Nicholson is the best, as he is many others opinion.

YES! Although I think Michael Fassbender as Magneto deserves an honourable mention.

As for Christopher Reeve (and not disrespecting him or his place on this list) from what I understand the Superman in the comics was basically changed into a clone of the version Reeve portrayed. Which in a way, is probably a testament to how good he was in the role.
