To all the TROLLS: I have been thinking about this for a while now. Everyone is stating their opinion about the directors and the actors in CBM’s. That’s what we do, talk and complain and praise how our beloved characters are portrayed on the screen. I understand how emotions can run deep with some superheroes, I have my favorites too. What I don’t understand is how people can hate something before they see it. I’m not talking about “It probably will suck because of whatever”. I’m talking about the name calling, insulting, and hatred directed towards people who might disagree with others opinions.
If you don’t like the movie or the company (DC, Marvel) or production involved (Fox, Sony, Etc.) then please, don’t see it. I don’t like brussel sprouts, I really hate them. Should I make everyone hate them? Should I hate people and call them names for liking them? NO, I just won’t eat them. I think it is a sign of true stupidity for someone to chastise something without knowing about it. I know a lot of people don’t like Fox or Sony because of legitimate reason. That’s fine, know what you’re talking about and state your reasons intelligently. Saying “DC sucks because Marvel is cooler” (or vice versa) is the dumbest thing I ever heard.
Now, all the reboots and changes made in the continuity of our favorite characters universes is not necessarily a bad thing. I’ll use X-men and Batman as examples. Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale had a masterpiece with “The Long Halloween”
and Claremont/Bryne made history with “The Dark Phoenix Saga”.
When that story was over a new story had to start with different masters at the helm. I look at these movies the same way. Different directors/ (writers) and different actors/ (artist) make a different movie/ (story). I like to mix it up after awhile, it makes for some memorable stories.
I know some of you love the trolling, comments and bickering, I do too, at times. To me, it seems it’s starting to dampen the majestic aura I feel when I discuss CBM’s and the whole mythology of comics. And I don’t like anyone to tread on something I’ve lived with and loved all my 42 years. I’m a fan boy, dammit! I hope some of you guys feel the same. For those who don't...
