VIDEO: Part 2 Of J.J. Abrams' Mysterious "S" Trailer

This second, arguably even odder trailer from Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams picks up right where the last on left off, and reveals a few more details about what exactly this new project will be. Click on to take a look.

EW report that this isn't a new series, or a movie, but a book called S which was developed by Abrams and written by Doug Dorst. According to them the story revolves around "a grad student and college senior who trade notes in the margins of 1949 novel by fictional reclusive author V.M. Straka. S." Nothing in that description about anyone sewing their own lips shut, but there ya go. Thoughts?

Eh. It had my interest until I saw it was a book. I don't read anything unless there's pictures.

@Amazing512

Indeed, where is the Cloverfield sequel? Hopefully Godzilla is successful so that the general public will want another Cloverfield.

If it's a book of course Abrams didn't write it. There isn't a way to convey constant lens flare in words on a page.

It says in the trailer "The book is only the beginning" which leads me to think this might be the lead in for a film or tv series, similar to how Bad Twin was a compendium to LOST.

The trailers got me interested because of the visuals, but now that I know it's a book I could. I like to read, but I don't know if Abrams could do books.

I was interested until I saw that this was a book. Honestly, this is a comic-book movie website, i.e., a website about comics (books with words AND pictures), and movies about said comics. If I wanted to read a book, well, I wouldn't be looking at this website watching a trailer - I'd be reading a book. Seriously, who does a trailer for a book?

Though, if JJ had added some lens-flares to the trailer, I'd probably be more interested.

I've posted this before, but this is probably based on the Rod Sterling (Twilight Zone) script J.J. Abrams bought called the Stop Along the Way. The SW in the trailers and the couple seconds where it focuses on the stars are kind of a give away.
