Production on the first of the four Avatar sequels is now officially underway, and EW has unveiled our first behind-the-scenes look at some of the new cast additions.

The kids pictured here will play the offspring of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), as well as members of another Na’vi clan called the Metkayina. Apparently, all are set to have a "crucial role" in the follow-ups to James Cameron's mega-successful original.

The only one that won't be made-over to look like a young Na'vi is a character named Javier “Spider” Socorro, who will be played by Jack Champion (third from left).

“We never had this youthful element before, and that brings a different kind of energy to the film,” says executive producer Jon Landau. “They represent the future generation of Pandora and play a very significant role—not just in this movie but throughout all the movies.”

Avatar 2 is set to hit theatres in 2020.
