Universal Pictures gave us quite the treat last week when they debuted the first teaser poster for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and while, it would be understandable if the studio decided to hold out on releasing any footage from the J.A. Bayona-directed film until the VFX was more finely tuned, it appears as though, we may actually get a look at some dino action as soon as next month!
According to a recent live stream, conducted by Chronicle Collectibles, an official licensing partner for the franchise, Universal may indeed have a trailer ready for San Diego Comic-Con at the end of July. When asked a question about their upcoming schedule, art director and Chronicle Collectibles co-founder Paul Francis weighed in with what he'd heard regarding products for the highly anticipated sequel. "Universal is gonna start rolling out some trailers, I think the first trailer will be sometime around Comic-Con?"
Now, it's best to take this with a grain of salt, especially considering that Universal didn't release the first trailer for Jurassic World until Thanksgiving 2014, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they followed a similar rollout plan for the sequel, but then again, this installment is coming attached with a much higher profile and there aren't many larger platforms to launch a trailer of this magnitude than SDCC. Also, if a trailer is slated to arrive here, expect it to arrive on Saturday, July 22, which is when all the major studios, including Marvel Studios & Warner Bros., typically hold their show-stopping panels.
On another note, a familiar explorer was recently spotted on the Fallen Kingdom set. Check it out below:
