BOX OFFICE: Legendary Pictures' PACIFIC RIM Surpasses $300M Mark Worldwide

Legendary Pictures' Pacific Rim was released last week in China, and it opened to a record-breaking $45.2M debut. The Guillermo del Toro-directed has been struggling at the domestic box office, where it has currently earned a tepid $94.8M. With a $180-200M budget, many have been wondering if it will break even. Well, another step has been taken towards that as Pacific Rim has now surpassed the $300M line worldwide, and is sitting at $313.1M. As for its full seven-day opening in China, the sci-fi epic made $54.7M. A final total of $400M+ is now a good possibility; while it won't guarantee a sequel due to its hefty budget, it doesn't entirely rule it out. Do you want to see a follow-up to Pacific Rim?
