David Duchovny Wants More X-FILES Movies; Trashes GREEN LANTERN

Just in case you weren't aware, David Duchovny played Fox Mulder in the insanely popular sci-fi series, The X-Files. Since that show went off the air, we have had two big screen outings for he and his on-screen partner -- who is now rumored to be his off-screen partner too -- Gillian Anderson. One was pretty good, one..wasn't (although to be fair, I am probably one of the few who thought X-Files: I Want To Believe had some merit), but regardless Duchovny wants another crack at it. He says that he's "perplexed" that Fox won't take an already established franchise and run with it, saying if the opportunity arose he would "love to do another film, or more.". He then goes on to take a shot at Warner Bros. Green lantern, apparently as an example of a gamble with a new property that didn't pay off.

"Here’s a homegrown property that you don’t have to go buy, like fu**in’ Green Lantern or something, to make it. Here you’ve got an actual action franchise that’s your own. It’s weird to me, but I’m not an executive. I don’t know if they made the Green Lantern either, but I’m just using that as an example of, 'Why make that film? Why not make a homegrown franchise that is excellent, and that has proven to be excellent and interesting?' I don’t get it, but that’s not my business."

Ok, I don't think anyone will argue with him about Green Lantern being a disappointment, but that doesn't mean that a studio should never take a chance on an untested property. I mean, to his point, would anyone even want another X-Files movie now? -- aside from Duchovny of course. What do you think of his remarks?
