While it's not exactly all that exciting, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the official logo for Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes following the announcement that production has officially begun. Hit the jump to check it out!

In 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes', a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.



Directed by Matt Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. The movie is set for release on Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd, 2014.

Some people just want something to gripe about. It is needless but I don't mind it.

I hope this movie is good but I think it is more likely not to be. The origin story is usually always the best in a series. The new movie needs incremental development in their intelligence with a good original storyline. Then maybe they can pull it off. If they make more than this, those movies will probably just seem like remakes of the earlier films.
