Coming Soon, refutes these claims, "We talked to the studio, which said that the report is not true. They continue to develop a new live-action version and there is no animated movie in the works."
By now we all know the story of
Ghostbusters 3, but let's do a quick recap for fun. All of the original cast members would like to make the film, except Bill Murray. The actor has been handed new script after new script and just won't commit to the project. For some odd reason Murray is deciding to be picky about the project even though he did
Garfield and
Garfield 2 during this period.
As for the plot, according to Dan Aykroyd it will center around the old team teaching a bunch of young recruits how to be ghostbusters. The plan seems to be hand off the franchise to this younger generation.
