Irrfan Khan Says JURASSIC WORLD Is Going To Be A "Scary Adventure"

In 1993, actor Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) barely had the money to see the first Jurassic Park in theaters and now he's playing a critical part in the upcoming sequel, Jurassic World. Come check out a brand new interview where he shares a few details about his role!

After being the guest of honor at the River to River Florence Indian Film Festival, Life of Pi star Irrfan Khan sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and shared a few of his thoughts on being honored, his illustrious film career, and his role in the upcoming blockbuster sequel Jurassic World. Not much has been revealed about his role yet, but according to the official website, he'll be playing the new park owner Simon Masrani, a man who inadvertantly sets off the film's devastating events after creating a new species of dinosaur.

Check out Khan's comments on Jurassic World below and definitely check out the full piece by clicking HERE!

What can you tell us about your upcoming role in Jurassic World?

I'm playing the park owner, a very flamboyant person. When the first Jurassic Park came out, I barely had the money to see it and now I'm playing a part. He's trying to entertain the world with good intentions, but sometimes being flamboyant doesn't mean having much wisdom.

What can people expect from this film, different from the original?

For sure it will have more vibe. It's the Jurassic World of these times, with all the technical experimentation. It has now become a fully-bloomed dinosaur amusement park. Dinosaurs in this film will definitely be scary, but this is not a horror film, so it will be like a scary adventure.

Was the filmmaking process difficult, with so many CGI costars?

As an actor what's most important is how the story and the director make you feel on the set and that's immaterial if you have CGI or real partners. If you have a good chemistry with the director everything's fine and I really loved the playfulness of the script and Colin's approach.

Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.

Jurassic World will feature:
Director: Colin Trevorrow
Chris Pratt as Owen
Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire
Jake Johnson as Lowery
Nick Robinson as Zach
Ty Simpkins as Gray
BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu
Irrfan Khan as Simon Masrani
Brian Tee as Hamada
Omar Sy
 Vincent D'Onofrio
Judy Greer
Katie McGrath
Lauren Lapkus
Andy Buckley
James DuMont

Jurassic World is set to roar into theaters June 12, 2015

I wonder if he'll disappear halfway through the movie with no logical explanation whatsoever. Eh, probably not.

Yeah, blah blah blah, cool, but I'm still worried about the tamed raptors.

Haha let's just hope his role here is not as thankless as his glorified cameo in TASM 1

And I think it's pretty much confirmed that Chris Pratt is using tamed velociraptors...but I really hope that last shot in the trailer is a case where they're all trying to escape from something else.

It'd be a pretty cool image to have a man and a bunch of wild velociraptors all running away together from something FAR scarier, rather than having Pratt sick a bunch of trained velociraptors to try to bring down another dinosaur.

Didn't he die in TASM when his head hit the windshield of that car and that was the last we see of him?

Let's hope if his character does die, his character dies with the audience fully knowing that he is dead, instead of people having to speculate as to what happened to him in TASM.
