Jurassic World: Dominion concludes the current trilogy of films, but also promises to finally put the spotlight back on the key cast members from the original Jurassic Park series. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum have all been confirmed to reprise their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm respectively, but they won't just be making cameo appearances.

Speaking to Games Radar, director Colin Trevorrow emphasized their importance to his film.

"This is the movie I've been waiting to make since the beginning," he teased. "It's the one we have spent the past two movies building to. It really was part of a larger story and part of a design."

"I think people may be underestimating the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum's characters in this movie; it is very much an ensemble," the filmmaker continued. "That element – the ability to take these beloved characters from almost 30 years now and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world we've really never seen before and not been able to witness until now is very exciting for me."

Jurassic World: Dominion promises to be an epic finale for the franchise, though it seems likely it will continue beyond this chapter in some form, even if it's in a world that's become overrun by dinosaurs. A Planet of the Apes-style world does appear to be where things are headed after Fallen Kingdom.

Of this really is the movie he been waiting to make, I'm happy for him. Regardless of my feelings of the other two.

It's nice to see those three actors together again. But making their actual characters relevant to the current story, will be tough. Are we following them just because of nostalgia, or will they have an organic reason for returning as the protagonists?

Only good Jurassic Park movie is the first movie.

Only memorable part of the second film was the city T rex chase. (also had a nice Godzilla reference)

Third one was okay, seemed to just have fun.

4th film, the Force Awakens of Jurassic Park

5th film, the Last Jedi of Jurassic Park

Okay is that quote to us of Kathleen Kennedy? 😂

More like "we can't think of an interesting or creative story so we'll get people to tune in via nostalgia" LOL!

Huh.
Look at that.

Jurassic World ends up doing what Star Wars didn't.

Getting the original stars to be in actual scenes together.

Damn.

@SuperBatCap1 - well they got them all into scenes together, Luke had a scene with Leia, she had a scene with Han

@SuperBatCap1 - It’s not like they really had a choice. Carrie Fisher died.

You really think they wouldn’t have given us a flashback with Luke, Han, and Leia in IX if she was still alive? Especially if JJ, the king of nostalgia, was still director?

Clone girl sets dinosaurs free in a touching moment of sympathy, within moments 3 "bad" people are dead.

Would be nice to see some nods to other earlier characters that are still alive. Vince Vaughan, Julianne Moore and Alessandro Nivola would be cool for nostalgia reasons.

The Lost World was a great premise that was kind of muddled and confused. Once you have humans capturing dinosaurs with relative ease you are going undermine their threat.

I still don't like the idea of a literal Jurassic World, but I'm definitely glad they brought these three back

It only took them 4 movies to realize that's what MADE jurassic park.. I'm very optimistic, even if FK was the worst damn JP movie ever
