To announce the beginning of principal photography today, director Colin Trevorrow (
Jurassic World;
Safety Not Guaranteed) has also revealed the official title of his highly anticipated
Jurassic World threequel, which will henceforth be known as
Jurassic World: Dominion.
Trevorrow is also taking a page out of fellow director
Chris McQuarrie's (
Mission: Impossible 7/8) book by launching his own personal
Instagram page, where he promises to share exclusive behind-the-scenes photos straight from the top secret set of the upcoming blockbuster.
The film's star-studded cast features Jurassic alums Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), 3x Golden Globe-nominee Sam Neill (Alan Grant), Academy Award-winner Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler), Academy Award-nominee Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm), Jake Johnson (Lowery Cruthers), Omar Sy (Barry Sembane), Justice Smith (Franklin Webb) and Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez).
Newcomers to the franchise include Mamoudou Athie (
Sorry for Your Loss), DeWanda Wise (
She's Gotta Have It), Dichen Lachman (
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Scott Haze (
Venom). Details on their roles are currently being kept under wraps.
Filming has commenced in London with Trevorrow back in the director's chair, utilizing a script he co-wrote alongside Emily Carmichael (
Battle at Big Rock).
Jurassic World 3 roars into theaters on June 11, 2021.
