JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM Book Teases Yet Another "Terrifying" New Hybrid Breed Dinosaur

How do you top Jurassic World's Indominus Rex? By creating another "terrifying new hybrid breed" of dinosaur, which is exactly what an augmented reality book for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teases.

As excitement builds towards the first Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, small morsels of information about the sequel to 2015's soft franchise reboot are beginning to surface. The latest comes from a new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom official augmented reality book, which hints at yet another "terrifying new hybrid breed" of dinosaur.

The book's summary teases a number of other things as well, including the debut of the fan-favorite dinosaur Baryonyx, a bipedal carnivorous dinosaur that has a history of being mentioned within the Jurassic Park franchise but has never been seen on screen in any of the films. As Jurassic Outpost points out, the Baryonyx is said to have reached lengths of over 30 feet long, and stood nearly 10 feet tall. Although fossil record suggests the dinosaur lived primarily off of a fish diet, InGen's creations are known to be much more dangerous than their real-world counterparts.

The site takes notice of the book's art which, though not finalized, seems to fall in line with rumors that some sort of volcanic eruption will pose some sort of imminent threat in the movie.

Check out the book's summary:

Carlton's official Augmented Reality book is jam-packed with exclusive movie imagery and background facts, and lets you experience original Jurassic World dinosaurs through mind-blowing next-generation, fully interactive Digital Magic. Learn how to bond with and train alpha Velociraptor "Blue", then use her as your protector and guide as you encounter other dinosaurs through the app. From brand-new movie dinosaur characters including awesome Baryonyx and a terrifying new hybrid breed, to old favourites like T. Rex and Stegosaurus, this Jurassic World AR book will wow readers all over again.

Plot details surrounding Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom remain a mystery, though many suspect the film could revolve around the breeding of new species of dinosaurs that can be used as military weapons. This was touched upon in Jurassic World, with the training of raptors and the creation of the Indominus Rex, but it's possible Fallen Kingdom could further explore this topic. Perhaps that's what the book summary is referring to when it mentions "terrifying new hybrid breed." It'll be interesting to see how these new creations interact with old favorites like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Stegosaurus, both of which are also teased to return in the film.

With Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom set to hit theaters June 22, 2018, and its first trailer seemingly right around the corner, it hopefully won't be too much longer before we get a glimpse at this new terrifying creation.
