RUMOR: Will JURASSIC PARK IV Begin Shooting Next Month?

Universal is looking to film a production in Baton Rouge for several months (beginning with April), and rumors/speculation suggest that this could be for the next Jurassic Park film.

Despite having a release date set for next year, little else is confirmed about Universal's Jurassic Park IV. The long in-development dinosaur sequel, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg, has yet to lock down a director or cast members, but we may have an idea of when production starts. An official at Baton Rogue's Raleigh Studios, Patrick Mulhearn, has confirmed that Universal has reserved space to film in the area from April to November this year, but won't say which project it will be. The studio previously shot Battleship and the upcoming Oblivion in the area. "We have a great relationship with NBC/Uni and really appreciate that they trusted us with both 'Battleship' and 'Oblivion' in the past," Mulhearn said, "and we are glad they are considering bringing more production work to Baton Rouge in the near future, whatever that may be. But nothing is confirmed at this point, and I guess you never really know until the office opens and they start building sets."

Jurassic Park IV is perhaps Universal's biggest upcoming film, and is arguably the most obvious of the studio's slate to go into production this spring. Plus, if it wants to make its announced release date of June 13th, 2014, it will have to go into production soon. If this is the case, then expect a director and/or cast members to be announced soon. Stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.

Well, since there is no cast, no director, no script, NOTHING, there is no shooting, too. I'm getting tired of this dumb useless speculations.

They have a little over a year to hire a director, lock in a cast, shoot, and finish in post-production. All of that usually takes two years or more for a movie on this scale.

Does that sound rushed to anybody?

Wow and I thought JLA was being rushed. Here they *apparantly* aren't even waiting to find a director to start this thing.

Doubt its true

there is a script from Oscar winning director William Monahan (Sin City 2, The Departed, Kingdom of Heaven).. there is also speculation that Jon Favreau is already hired as it's director.. fight this as much as you want folks but Universal has a release date set.. they usually don't do that without a script/director..
