Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic is well-known for its iconic ending that saw the T-Rex slaughter a pack of Raptors, then roar as the “When dinosaurs ruled the earth” banner fell to the ground (pictured above). Even though this ending was acclaimed considerably, new storyboards for the film have surfaced, which reveals a very different take on the movie’s final scene.

Instead of a climactic battle between the fierce dinos, it seems as if Jurassic Park would have ended with a sequence that saw the protagonists running from the T-Rex, before being rescued in a helicopter. You can take a look at the unused storyboards - which were illustrated by Phil Tippett - below.

Rare Jurassic Park (1993) Storyboards

From Phil Tippett’s Jurassic Park Early Sequence Storyboard Binder, here is a first-look at the rare storyboards for a thrilling helicopter rescue sequence set to be at the film’s finale. This is an early look of the first version (Version A) of the sequence, and was not scripted at this stage immediately after Crichton’s final draft. It later became adapted into Malia Scotch Marmo’s screenplay, but with numerous alterations.

I like this one too. They could re-tweak it a bit for a future film.

Also, Lex seems younger than Tim.
I´m fine with the movie version. It haven´t sense, but make the dinosaurs the real protagonists.

this explains why in the actual ending they are rushing to get on the helicopter even though the way things were cut together they were in no clear and present danger.

Seems that some of this alternative ending may have even been shot.

Jurassic Park is a perfect movie. Too many convenient moments and 'perfect timing' getaways, take some of the realism away.
