THE GET DOWN Star Justice Smith Signs On For The JURASSIC WORLD Sequel
With production expected to start next spring, Universal has been quite busy casting for their upcoming Jurassic World sequel and they've just added The Get Down star Justice Smith in a key role!
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Justice Smith has signed on for a role in Universal Pictures & Amblin Entertainment's upcoming sequel to their 2015 mega-blockbuster Jurassic World.
Details on his role are being kept under wraps for the time being, but he's now the third new addition for the hotly anticipated sequel, following Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Rafe Spall (Life of Pi), who both joined early last month.
The dinosaur sequel, which is due out June 2018, will once again be headlined by Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2) & Bryce Dallas Howard (Black Mirror) - who will reprise their roles as Owen & Claire from the original film - and they probably won't be the only familiar faces as B.D. Wong (Gotham) is also expected to return in some capacity.
Production has been slated to begin spring 2017 in England with J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) in the director's chair. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and his writing partner Derek Connolly are currently hard at work writing the script.
Smith is best known for his lead role as Ezekiel "Zeke" Figuero on Netflix's musical drama series The Get Down and was also seen last year in the coming-of-age tale Paper Towns.
