Having made his big break on the Bayona film The Impossible, it is likely that Holland's performance in the film assisted in selling Sony and Marvel on his potential as Peter Parker. Since then, the two have kept in touch, with Holland even being used as a stand-in for Liam Neeson's character in Bayona's 2016 adaptaion, A Monster Calls.
