We're now less than two weeks away from the release of Godzilla Vs. Kong, and Legendary Pictures has shared a new featurette for the highly-anticipated monster mash.
In addition to spotlighting some awesome new footage of the legendary Titans throwing down, the sneak peek features interviews with director Adam Wingard and several of the main cast members, who reveal that the human characters will be divided into members of "Team Kong" and "Team Godzilla."
Given her connection to Big G from King of the Monsters, it makes sense that Millie Bobby Brown would be heading up Team Godzilla with Julian Dennison and Bryan Tyree Henry, while Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall and Eiza González will be cheering on the Great Ape.
While an early synopsis for the movie assured us that "one will fall," the prevailing theory is that Godzilla and Kong will ultimately join forces to stop a larger threat (Mecha-Godzilla? Mecha-Ghidorah?) to the planet - but that doesn't mean they won't do some serious damage to each other beforehand.
Check out the new featurette below.
“Legends collide as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.”
Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Shun Oguri, Jessica Henwick and Brian Tyree Henry, Godzilla Vs. Kong pits the two famous monsters against each other in an epic battle.
Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok) and Max Borenstein (The Terror) wrote the screenplay, with Adam Wingard on board as director. The movie is set for release in theaters and on HBO Max on March 31.
