Warner Bros. has released another new poster for The Matrix Resurrections, this time putting the spotlight on Neo and Trinity. Their reunion is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated aspects of Lana Wachowski's follow-up to the original trilogy, and it's great to see them back in black here.

We're expecting a new trailer for the movie to drop any time now, especially with that December release date drawing near. The teaser generated a lot of buzz online, but it feels like it's time for the studio to share a few more secrets and pull back the curtain on what we can expect from this story.

"In a world of two realities - everyday life and what lies behind it - Thomas Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more," reads the expectedly vague synopsis for the movie. "Choice, while an illusion, is still the only way in or out of the Matrix, which is stronger, more secure and more dangerous than ever before."

The Matrix Resurrections stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The fourth instalment of the franchise arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22.

I can't really see Neo with the long hair and beard

@Fares - he only has the beard and long hair in the matrix. He's bald in the real world.

@Timerider84 - Yeah I remember seeing the photos of bald Keanu circling around. But I still wish he had the classic Neo look in the Matrix, unless the new style has some sort of story reason of course.

@Fares - Bill and Ted 3 taught him a lesson, to never shave the beard again. So unfortunately now every Keanu character will just be John Wick.

@Fares - I wish my fanfic was true - John Wick was the ID the Matrix found to keep Neo busy, being an quasi-allmighty killing machine. Then Trinity gets him out of the Matrix but this is his self-image onwards.

Is anyone else very cautious about their expectations for this film?

@DeaconFrostBite - I am. Wachowskis really have shown to be one hit wonders with that first matrix movie.

I'll keep an open mind and go see it. There must be a reason (beyond money) that one of the original director, along with original cast members, returned to make this.
