Check out this brand new TV spot for 'Terra Nova', Steven Spielberg's newest television project which features time travel, dinosaurs, and guns, what more do you need?

'Terra Nova' will air this May with a special 2-hour premiere.

"TERRA NOVA follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in doubt, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past.

The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first colony established in this beautiful yet forbidding land. JIM SHANNON, a devoted father with a checkered past, guides his family through this new world of limitless beauty, mystery and terror. Jim’s wife, ELISABETH SHANNON, is a trauma surgeon and the newest addition to TERRA NOVA’s medical team. JOSH SHANNON is their 17-year-old son who is angry to leave life as he knows it behind; upon arriving at the settlement, he finds himself instantly drawn to the beautiful and rule-breaking SKYE. MADDY SHANNON, Josh’s endearingly awkward 15-year-old sister, hopes TERRA NOVA will give her a new chance to reinvent herself. Although Elisabeth’s medical training secured the family a spot on the pilgrimage, a secret involving their five-year-old daughter, soon endangers their place in this utopia.

pon the Shannon’s arrival, they are introduced to COMMANDER NATHANIEL TAYLOR, the charismatic and heroic first pioneer and leader of the settlement. Taylor, along with his right-hand man, GUZMAN, warn the travelers that while Terra Nova is a place of new opportunities and fresh beginnings, all is not as idyllic as it initially appears. Along with blue skies, towering waterfalls and lush vegetation, the surrounding terrain is teeming with danger – and not just of the man-eating dinosaur variety. There is also a splinter colony of renegades led by the battle-hardened MIRA, who is vehemently opposed to Taylor and his leadership.

Even more threatening than what lies outside the protective walls of the colony is the chilling possibility that something sinister is happening inside Terra Nova. The Shannons will come to suspect that not everyone on this mission has the same idea of how to best save mankind; in fact, there may be forces intent on destroying this new world before it even begins."

I think this show is looking great. I've been very interested in it since I heard the premise. It seems like the type of show that under normal circumstances would absolutely fail immediately, but with Steven Spielberg behind it, I don't see how it can go wrong. We may have another 'Taken' on our hands with this one.

intruder: Thanks for posting that clip! That always cracks me up. Just what I need after a long day of work!

This show sounds pretty interesting. Too bad it's on Fox. If it's any good, Fox will move it around until it loses its audience so they can cancel it. They can't handle clever and intelligent programs.

Intruder: This series does indeed sound like it has real ass-kicking potential. If it turns out to really BE that good, I just hope it finds an audience so that Fox won't kill it. I'm certainly planning to give it a chance.

I want the boonie hat wearing guy from Jurassic Park to be a character in this. He can get eaten in every episode and whisper out "Clever Girl" while they tear him apart. He could be the Kenny for this show.

@ Gunsmith, I miss Amazing Stories too. I re-watched the series not too long ago. We need another show like Amazing Stories/Twilight Zone/Outer Limits.

this look like a very good idea. but knowing fox they going to F-things up on the sub-story lines. The 1st few Eps will be about the place and animals and such..after that they going to make you hate or love some charters on the show..because not every Eps is going to be about the Animals! So here where the show will go to hell...On the char story lines....
