The recent half of the series has been fantastic so far. Hope they keep up the good work!

^I think it's a requirement to be on the show^ 1-Be a ridiculously talented actor or actress. 2-Be ridiculously hot! 3- Only cast from Great Britain because across the pond actors are usually one or the other not both :)

Well IMO River Song and Donna Noble aren't really attractive.

For some reason I can never take this show seriously. It would like to see itself as one of the most influencial SF programs ever but its hardly the Twilight Zne is it?

@FOOM: It's not meant to be taken seriously.

@skidz

I know. But I take my SF pretty seriously. And if I ever want right out SF comedy I head straight to Red Dwarf.

I will concede that since returning after since a long absence Dr Who has never been better though. And despite my b*tchin',I do end up watching it.

Matt Smith era is a bit forced, and too "cheesy". He's kind of annoying by now, I prefer Tennant final season.

Jenna Louise Coleman is beautiful and talented in a classy not sleazy way.

Yes Karen Gillan was beautiful and talented too but her character just seemed like they were trying to sex up the show just to be modern.

@SuperDude001 Haven't seen today's episode yet, might see only tomorrow. Last week episode he was soooo forced and retarded, and I agree, I think Moffat writing is indeed doing that to the character, Smith is great, but Moffat is writing him like a retarded child lately! I'm hoping for him to regenerate this christmas and moffat to leave with him. or maybe moffat should leave and someone better should come to write eleven.

I bet today episode wasn't written by Moffat, that why he was good then?

I've actually preferred Moffat's run and Matt Smith's Doctor - found it quite refreshing to the series, whereas Russel T Davies' run became stale, and Tennant's initially great Doctor was kind of ruined by the end - reduced from the adventurous hero hiding a deep sadness, to a somewhat paranoid, selfish shadow. I think Matt's version brought back a lot of the quirky fun of The Doctor, and the alien qualities of the character, while still playing the damaged, lonely parts of the character strongly.

I enjoyed the first half of today's episode - it's always great seeing a new companion react to their first alien encounter, and I think Clara was written well throughout. I found the second half of it pretty weak though, to be honest. Seemed like they rushed the ending; they were trapped for all of two minutes, and got out relatively quickly despite what should've been a lot of peril, and the sonic screwdriver was way overused in that - they set up the 'changing locks' which seem like a great way to render the screwdriver ineffective and force The Doctor to figure something else out, and instead he just makes it work. I did like how they defeated the monster, but won't spoil any more than that (it's pretty obvious they'd win).

Also some minor aesthetic gripes, like the singing seeming a bit too forced and cheesy by the end, and the sun-god-monster looking ridiculous with that smiley face they gave it.

It was an okay episode but there's too many poorly timed commercial breaks.

I've been enjoying this half so far, much better than the previous half. I do hope they will get some stronger writing though. I feel like they just want to show off their improved SFX department in the last couple of season. I like Jenna as a companion and I hope Matt Smith rises to become one of the best doctors.
