Really didn't care for this movie. Apart from a small handful of scenes it was completely different from the book, which as an adaption isn't a bad thing in itself if they actually came up with something interesting instead of just throwing lackluster CGI nostalgia at your face for two hours all while trying to preach at the end how you shouldn't be so absorbed with nostalgia and video games and go outside.

@MrDandy - Its different in most aspects, but honestly its better. The book drags with a lot of boring stuff and really obscure references. The only thing i liked more from the book is Diatos death. And it wasnt preachy at all, they made it so everyone would go outside or enjoy life without a game - thats not preachy thats realistic. They close the oasis for 2 days a week, so its not a crutch for people.

This movie was just pure fun. Loved it more than the book.

What? No director's or any type of commentary? I would love to hear how decisions were made that differed from the book in many scenes.

@Blackstradamus - Spielberg doesn't agree with doing commentaries as he thinks it takes away from the viewing of the movie and it should speak for itself. His films usually have quite extensive featurettes and interviews with him though so they'll probably go into it in one of the other features.

@darkershadeofme - I can see his point. It's a personal choice I respect. Would have been cool to hear about though.

But you're right, there's plenty of other features that could tackle it.
