For months we have been asking ourselves, who is Benedict Cumberbatch playing? While many rumors have said it to be Khan (made famous for Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan) but we now have official confirmation on who Benedict Cumberbatch is actually playing, thanks to a review from Furious Fanboys the review goes in-depth about the film so obviously huge spoilers ahead, although if you were smart you would've guessed it since the first trailer hit.

A spoiler review was found online from Furious Fanboys, a trust worthy site, in the review it was revealed that “Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness. All that bull—t of him not being Khan and really ‘John Harrison’ was just a cover to hide the truth from moviegoers. Oh, he does go by ‘John Harrison’ in the movie…but that’s not his real name. He reveals his name to Kirk later in the movie.”

So what do you think of this? Did you guess it from day one? Comment below and let us know!

I read about this yesterday from people who saw the Sydney Premier.

It's whatever for me. As long as the movie is good and as long as they can at least explain the Khan thing well enough. I'm ok with it.

what exactly was the point of not telling people he was Khan? It would've made the trailer infinitely better if the last thing we saw was Kirk shouting "Kahn!"

I thought he was going to be Khan's son, well that would have made more sense than this and an easier explanation on why he is getting revenge. This is just jumping the bricks by doing this. It's a total insult the character. Why even bother making Khan a secret in the first place if the character has already been established before many times. It just doesn't make any sense. What a lame twist.

@TheMysteriousStranger- Yep I completely agree. This twist and the twist for Iron Man 3 regarding Mandarin are the lamest twists I've ever heard of.

Hopefully they pan out well in the films but...idk. I just feel like these twists were a tad bit unnecessary.

DioFoRio Well, weather you dislike the guy personally that's fine I guess, it is your opinion. But I'd say he's been right with the scoops he's gotten so far. The problem is some don't understand how business works, he reports that this or that may happen (like Momoa) but it eventually fell though. Thus he is usually "trust worthy" most just don't want to admit it.

@superotherside

They do get stuff right occasionally. But I think it's only fair to give them a hard time, because they never cop to it when they do get it wrong.

If they would ever, simply say: "Sorry guys, looks like we got a bad tip," then everything would be fine.

[frick] this movie, I thought it was going to be something original, even if it was Khan's brother or something. I thought the whole point of the alternate universe was to try new ideas...

Benedict doesnt even look like Khan, does goddamn time travel change people's nationalities too

[frick] Iron Man 3's twist and [frick] this load of rubbish, Im worried about the rest of the summer now, is Zod going to be Superman's real dad, is Wolverine going to lose his powers forever, [frick]ing bullshit

I KNEW IT!!!!!!! Okay, we all did. :P

I don't really mind this. Though, it's slightly repetitive having the same villain in the second movie of a film series. Movie looks incredible.

Well, if there was ever the slightest doubt Paramount & Co. and/or Abrams only cared about the cash, not about quality, this is it. Creativity? Originality? Forget that. Play it safe. Go for the cash.

I had a feeling (makes most financial sense since Kahn is most famous Trek villain from TOS), but I was still wanting it to be Gary Mitchell. Alice Eve looks like Elizabeth Dehner.
