Tatum & Kunis' JUPITER ASCENDING Takes Latest Cover Of TOTAL FILM

Yesterday came the news that Andy and Lana Wachowski's upcoming sci-fi flick Jupiter Ascending was delayed until next February. However, Total Film magazine has released their latest cover, featuring the film's stars Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street) and Mila Kunis (Oz: The Great and Powerful).

Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in "Jupiter Ascending," an original science fiction epic adventure from filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski. Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people's houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos. From the streets of Chicago to far flung galaxies whirling through space, "Jupiter Ascending" is written and directed by the Wachowskis.

Total Film does know about the delay, but since it was already made, they just used the poster anyway.

What does it matter the film got delayed? Does that mean it shouldn't feature in magazines?

This looks like it could actually be some fun.
I get a little vibe of Fifth Element, and I liked that a lot more than I thought I would.

I have to say, while to all of us, pushing the movie back to February may seem bad, or like a bad sign in regards to the quality and entertainment value of the film, it could end up being a blessing in disguise for the movie and Wachowskis. Between Edge of Tomorrow, Guardians, and whatever else is coming this summer it would be easy for the film to get lost in the shuffle. The general public may think that a February release equates to a death sentence, but think about it. This is perfect 'counter programming' for the Valentine's Day season. Amongst all the Rom-Coms and chick flicks, an original sci-fi action adventure starring two of the 'hottest' young leads can really capitalize on the fact that it coulld appeal to a wide audience. Tatum for the ladies, Kunis for the guys, Kunis as a strong female lead for girls, crazy special effects, fight scenes, and action for boys, and of course the creators of The Matrix bringing a new and original sci-fi flick to the table. Between weather(for a lot of people) and a potential lack of movie options at the time, this movie could really come out of nowhere to not only make money, but really surprise people. It of course may not happen, but as a huge fan of Cloud Atlas, I'll at least head to the theater to check it out and see what they come up with next.
