Check out the latest, and longest, trailer for the highly anticipated comic adaptation Scott Pilgrim VS The World, which premiered this morning on The Sun. If you're unfamiliar with the Scott Pilgrim story line, this trailer lays it out very nicely:





Scott Pilgrim VS The World is based on the comic book of the same name and stars Michael Cera as the title character as well as Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Aubrey Plaza, Kieran Culkin, Brie Larson, Mae Whitman, Ellen Wong, Anna Kendrick, Mark Webber, Alison Pill and Satya Bhabha.

The film is scheduled to premiere in the US August 13th and in the UK August 27th, 2010.

Acerimmer1@ Your comparing a scene from this trailer to something that is a random, rough production clip we saw in the E interview for Thor? You can't be serious.

The more I see of this, the more ridiculous I think this movie looks. Not my kind of CBM movie, I guess.

@Blight-- It'd better have the X-Men symbol on it... he even makes reference to that in volume 1.

While on the topic of "volumes", how are they going to handle his constant references to past volumes? because he does that quite a bit, and it wouldn't make sense for him to say "oh, that was back in volume three" in a movie. "scenes" maybe?

Also, @Helagood-- I can't believe you covered up the "1/2" on Scott's shirt in your "fantastic four" picture... because that shirt's not only a shout-out to the FF, but also to Franklen Richards, who wore the "4-1/2" shirt in the comics.

I mean, I know the list of pics was probably sarcastic, but the Fantastic Four and the X-Men reference are actually just that; references. Aside from the explanation of the Franklen Richards shirt, there's actually a scene in the book where Ramona asks Scott why he has an "X" on his coat, to which he replies something like--"Well, it looks like one of us went to Xavier's school for gifted youngsters, and the other didn't."

The other stuff (aside from the Cap and Thor pictures, which were obviously there for humor) is arguable, like Knives' Captain Marvel shirt (well, Black Adam shirt, anyway)...but I'd assume Wallace is just wearing a shirt with his initials ("Wallace Wells: Scott's Gay Roommate"...see, if you look very closely, you can see S.G.R.M. just barely after the "W.W." on his shirt.)
