In Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' mid-credits scene, the title hero (and Katy) were introduced to Captain Marvel and Bruce Banner by the MCU's new Sorcerer Supreme, Wong. With that, the stage was set for a sequel pitting Shang-Chi against an even greater threat than Wenwu, and it appears he's going to need some assistance from Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Much has been made of Bruce being back in his human form after Avengers: Endgame introduced us to Professor Hulk, with the hope being that She-Hulk will explain the scientist's latest evolution.

While time will tell on that front, Weta VFX supervisor Sean Walker recently talked to Variety about the work that went into making this meeting between the heroes possible. "I just sat down two compositors and two effects artists, and just said, 'Come up with something and let your imagination go wild.' Within four days they came up with the entire sequence," he explained.

Captain Marvel's suit was entirely digital in the scene as it currently only exists in that form (after being created for Brie Larson's Avengers: Endgame appearance), while Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and Benedict Wong were on one stage, Larson on another, and Ruffalo "in his own laboratory, but we had to bring them all together into one final shot."

Marvel Studios is currently developing Shang-Chi 2 and an untitled spinoff Disney+ series we're assuming will revolve around the Ten Rings. The future looks bright for this hero's corner of the MCU moving forward, especially after the first instalment was a rare box office hit in the midst of the pandemic (it ultimately grossed over $430 million worldwide without a Chinese release).

What do you hope to see from the Master of the Martial Arts moving forward?
