Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a big success at the box office making over $400 million worldwide and recently was announced that it will get a sequel. Now, that a second movie is officially on its way with Destin Daniel Cretton returning to write and direct some may wonder what will happen in the next installment or who will join the cast. Cretton has an idea. In an interview with CinemaBlend, Cretton was asked which asian actor he would like to be part of the sequel and here is what he has to say: "I mean, if we could ever get Jackie [Chan] into a movie that would be a lifelong dream of mine."
The first film already paid homage to Jackie Chan in a fight sequence on a bus where Shang-Chi had to use his jacket as a weapon, which was inspired by Jackie Chan’s first major success in the usa, Rumble in the Bronx. Another scene is when the titular hero and his best friend Katy tried to escape through scaffolding. A scene inspired by Rush Hour 2.
There are no official news about who is going to join the cast in the second movie yet. So, it's just a wishful thinking for now.
